This is a picture of Khimri, or the “Nurrkian lion”. The ruby in the forehead of Khimri connotes his royal origin and is considered a symbol of enlightenment – an attribute of a true leader. Depicted above the head is a perfect triangle – a symbol of conscious existence, and is indicated by the color of gold. Gold is an important symbol of immortality.
To create this picture in the correct style, I had to revise a lot of heraldic emblems, after which I began to understand some of the principles, but I feel that I’ve touched only the surface level of this vast topic. Apparently, in heraldry there is a whole system of symbols and symbolic elements that carry a semantic load. I think I’ll go back to heraldry, but I don’t know when.
