Creation motivationThe negative emotions coming from seeing wingless birds from Sonic Riders pushed me to create an adequate bird with wings

Wingless birds in the Sonic Universe are nonsense. Considering that these are not kiwis or ostriches, but hawks, swallows and albatrosses. According to the design canon of this game series, winged anthropomorphs have wings behind their backs. It is strange that the lack of wings in birds is not anyhow explained in the game. As a matter of fact, Wingley was my answer to the designers of Jet, Wave and the other birds from “Riders”. Of course, years have passed, but my drawing went unnoticed. Probably it’s not impressive enough, and that’s why it didn’t get anyone hooked, but I’ve tried, and I hope it’s going to give Sega more adequate ideas for future designs of intelligent birds.
