Circumstances of Creation
| Inspiration | Pokemon Butterflee and Badniks from old Sonic games |
| Visual style | Sonic Adventure (child’s hand-drawing) |
| Creation motivation | Mini-boss for my fan-fantasies |
Talker was planned as a mini-boss for my stories about the Powerful Four. I can’t remember if I wrote even one episode with him, but I had a lot of ideas spin in my head for this boss. Roughly speaking, it was a certain feeling, not specific words or story. Talker had to be a pretty scary opponent, despite his small size. After getting acquainted with computers back in 2003, I even recorded a small melody in honor of this battle, but to this day it has remained children’s music in the midi format. I don’t know if I’ll have time to re-arrange it.
Above is a picture of various Badniks. Since I did not have any official books from Sega at the time – only the games themselves and a little bit of “Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog” on TV (and I didn’t understand what was happening there at all), my imagination began to flow and I called all the Badniks at least somehow. Scratch and Grounder are mostly based on Sonic 2 in this picture, but I didn’t know their official names at the time and it was embarrassing. Sphera was a robot spy, the Chao Virus – I don’t even remember, but it was cool to draw something of that nature. Iron Dog was just an iron dog, as I had just read Fahrenheit 451, and I was impressed…
