Creation motivationI wanted to make a good girlfriend for Sonic

In later years, when I had already settled in the Sonic fanbase and wrote a short collaborative story with a certain person nicknamed “Fargus”, the visual style of my fanart in the Sonic Universe changed towards an incomprehensible and unnecessary realism. Since those works look, let’s be frank, not too cute, I decided not to post them. Okay, I’ll show one so you can see why I don’t publish any artworks with Fargus on my website:

Sonya Leaves for the Ghost World

In this picture, Sonya’s leaving for the world of ghosts. After a long interaction with the aforementioned friend, I went into a deep depression and for a long time could not produce anything but depressive stuff in a variety of ways. In general, I have been very careful about any collaborations since then, because in such interactions, any psychological incompatibility hits the brain very hard.

Robots Must Die!

The picture above shows an attempt to get away from the “taxidermized” style for Sonic, but the female figure clearly suffered. Truth be told, Sonya’s redesign already exists as sketches, but so far I haven’t brought it to the feel I want. Therefore, there is nothing more to publish on this theme… Finally, I’ll add a little bit from the older sketches, where the style was still more or less tolerable:

Sonya Runs Away From Quatu

In the picture above you can see the scene from Sonya’s legendarium, her escape from Robotnik’s laboratory and Quatu the Clone trying to prevent her from doing so. Having the qualities of both Sonic and Knuckles, Quatu had the ability to levitate. In any case, all these stories could not be formalized properly in any way, since it is much easier to start things than to finish them. But to finish those personally important projects if you already started is simply necessary.
