Let me tell you right away that I didn’t play the game where Crunch first appeared. In truth, I didn’t play anything Crash-related at all after the the series was transferred to another studio, but I heard rumors about the new characters, and among my fellow artists there were those who actually held them dear. After learning a little more about Crunch, I imagined a situation where N.Gin had to train Crunch before the fight with Crash. That’s where this picture came from.
I wanted to create a cooler mech for N.Gin, while maintaining the style of the games and the newly-added anime aesthetic. This is how Armouroo, otherwise known as the armored kangaroo, appeared. This mechanoid is capable of striking with giant iron claws or shooting lasers from its paws. And of course, it is able to jump quite high and far, corresponding to its prototype…
