It’s hard to describe what I really meant… I was deeply depressed at the time, and even little girls like this character seemed to be monsters. I myself was some kind of a monster in the process of transformation (from a child to an adult), and humans, as we know, are quite creepy creatures. “Kawaii” can be a mere hoax. A cute creature can also be a dangerous one of a murderous nature… and, of course, my favorite – the anti-version. Although it’s more like Cream was infected with evil. Evil is a disease too. You can get sick with it…
All artwork in this style of shading usually starts as a pencil drawing, and sometimes this conveys the mood best. Going through old works, I noticed that the black and white version “touches my soul” more, as they say it… Oh, well…
