The “Generation of the End” was a mixed race. This happened because of the small number of surviving tribes and their close cohabitation with each other in one last city. The purpose of this settlement was to survive and develop means of escape from the planet, but since it was completely unclear where to run, they decided to use space grazers as ships. These animals move quite slowly, but they definitely find habitable areas, and they can do this for a very long time.
At the end of its existence, the civilization of the Urrkians began to seriously ponder the symbiosis with the planet, and the development of the first bio-spacesuits began. They weren’t very good, but they lived long enough and protected the wearer from the micro-threats quite well. In any case, it was a little too late and Urrk was steadily dying, filling up with creepy primordial fungi that were killing all life on their way.
